Creativity with Duct Tape
60Duct Tape Costume
Duct Tape Wonders
Taking a few days to complete, this costume was made by a 17 year old homeschool graduate here in Northeast Texas. The costume took 3 rolls of duct tape, a sacrificed tee shirt, and a pair of jeans.
I've seen duct tape do a lot of things in my time, but making a costume was not one of them. The creator of this sticky gray wonder is also an artist, a video game enthusiast, and an employee of Wal Mart. He astounded me with his ability to envision, his patience, and his commitment to this project.
My daughter held a Halloween party and invited several friends. Of course, the young man who created this duct tape costume was among them. We gave them free reign to use their imaginations as to what sort of costumes they would wear to the party. I figured we'd see all bought costumes, but no.....we were blessed with youthful imagination.
This costume made of wonderful duct tape, the redneck's dream glue, will no doubt last for several years. It could be passed on to the next generation of Halloween youth. It would make a nice addition to an art museum. Art is, after all, in the eye of the beholder. I say this art is one of the finest in clothing.
Kudos to the parents who have homeschoolers who are allowed to dream, create, and discover their inner talents. Some would say we're an eccentric bunch. I say eccentricity can breed some talented young artists.
